Don’t all religions lead to the same God?
From the beginning, God's revelation to man has been exclusive:
In the Old Testament, worshiping other gods led to judgment (Deuteronomy 6:14–15).
In the New Testament, the apostles preached Christ alone as the only way to be reconciled to God (Galatians 1:6–9).
In the early Church, Christians were martyred for refusing to say, “Caesar is Lord.” Why? Because they would only say “Jesus is Lord.” If all religions led to the same God, why would they die for saying otherwise?
Pluralism (all paths lead to God) is a modern lie, born out of emotionalism and relativism, not biblical theology or historical truth.
Biblical Backing:
The Bible is unequivocal about this:
“There is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Timothy 2:5, ESV
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
— Acts 4:12, ESV
“Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist.”
— 1 John 2:22, ESV
Jesus never allowed for “many ways.” He declared:
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
— John 3:36, ESV
The God of Scripture is jealous for His name:
“You shall have no other gods before me.”
— Exodus 20:3, ESV
Philosophical Reasoning:
One of the most basic principles in logic is the Law of Non-Contradiction:
"Two opposing claims cannot both be true at the same time and in the same sense."
Let’s apply this to religion:
Christianity says God is triune, salvation is by grace through faith, and Jesus is God in flesh.
Islam says God (Allah) is not triune, Jesus is not divine, and salvation is by works.
Hinduism has millions of gods, teaches reincarnation, and no concept of sin in the biblical sense.
Buddhism doesn’t even believe in a personal God.
You cannot say these all point to the same God. They are mutually exclusive. If one is true, the others must be false.
“God is not a God of confusion but of peace.”
— 1 Corinthians 14:33, ESV
Either Jesus is the only way (John 14:6), or He is a liar—but He cannot be both.
Real-World Analogy:
Imagine you're in a city and trying to get to one specific house—but:
One GPS says go north
Another says go south
One tells you there is no house, just a state of being
One says you become the house
Only one can be right. You cannot follow contradictory paths and expect to end up in the same place.
God is not a house you can get to by any route. He is a personal, holy being who has revealed one way to Himself—through His Son.
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction… For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
— Matthew 7:13–14, ESV
Clarity:
No, they do not. All religions do not lead to the same God because they contradict one another at the most foundational level—in their view of who God is, what truth is, how salvation works, and what the ultimate purpose of man is.
Only Jesus Christ claimed to be God incarnate, the only way to the Father, and proved it by rising from the dead.
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
— John 14:6, ESV
